Hours: As a member of the Animal Park staff you will be flexible to meet the needs of the business working between Monday-Sunday. Hours will range from some early starts and late finishes. This will be discussed with your line manager.

Salary: National minimum / Living wage depending on age. £6.15 – £8.21 per hour (rising to £6.45 – £8.72 in April 2020

Job Purpose: As a member of the Animal Park & Gardens team you will be responsible for ensuring that all our visitors leave having had a great visit and impression. You will be used to working in a fast paced attraction while consistently delivering high customer service standards putting our customers at the heart of everything you do. You will have a keen interest in retail, events, catering and showing your ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own.

Vision: At Kingston Maurward Animal Park we take pride in offering an excellent customer experience, working in a fast-paced attraction, you will have excellent customer service and the ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences. You will be a strong team player and a people-person; you’ll enjoy meeting people and helping to positively contribute to our visitors’ great day out.

You will also assist in engaging visitors with our animal collection by delivering up to date talks, tours, educational sessions and birthday parties, this is a physically demanding role. You will need to be capable of working within all areas of the attraction on a rotational basis. No two days will the same – from serving coffees and food in our new café facility, or delivering engaging talks and demonstrations with the public, to ensuring that our facilities are presentable at all times. You will have strong communication skills, plenty of enthusiasm and energy coupled with the ability to interact with our guests. You will have the ability to ‘think on your feet’ and take ownership of any issues that may arise. The ability to present confidently in front of an audience is a must and the ability to communicate effectively to all our visitors is key to being successful in this role.

The attraction is open 7 days a week, therefore you can expect to work during our peak times – school holidays, weekends and bank holidays with some early mornings and late nights. In return you’ll enjoy working in a fantastic working environment with a friendly supportive team.

Business Administration Apprentice (Equine Academic and Yard)

Post Title: Business Administration Apprentice (Equine Academic and Yard)

Hours: 37 hours, 5 days per week to include a Saturday

Salary: £7503.60 per annum (£3.90 per hour) paid in monthly instalments (rising to £4.15 per hour or £7984.60 per annum from April 2020) This is the National Apprenticeship rate of pay for apprentices if they are either aged under 19 or aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship.  Apprentices are entitled to the National Minimum (NMW) or National Living Wage (NLW) for their age if they are aged 19 or over and once they have completed the first year of their apprenticeship.  More information is also available on the government web site www.gov.uk.

Job Purpose: To deal with general administration duties for Manor Stables and the Academic team.

Vision: An enthusiastic, confident, computer-literate, and motivated individual is sought to provide a wide range of administrative duties within the Equine Department.  Work will include preparing documents, corresponding and working with customers, students and tutors and ensuring effective storage and retrieval of information. The successful candidate will be a confident IT user, have a good standard of English and attention to detail. Key to this role is having a desire to learn and a proactive, helpful and supportive attitude.  A flexible approach is essential to meet business needs.

Apprenticeship: Level 2 Apprenticeship in Business Administration (Functional Skills in English and Maths if needed)

Level 3 (Advanced) Apprenticeship in Business Administration (Functional Skills in English and Maths if needed)

Status:  For Level 2Fixed term for 15 months or until the qualification is obtained, whichever is the earlier.

For Level 3 – Fixed term for 18 months or until the qualification is obtained, whichever is the earlier.

Evening Part Time Domestic Assistant wanted.

We currently have an opportunity for a dedicated, self-motivated person to join our small, friendly team assisting with general cleaning duties.

Hours – 30 per week, 5:00om – 11:00pm with weekend work on a rota system (approximately every 10 weeks)

Person Specification:
