Bring your Own Device Policy

The College operates a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy where all students are required to
have a laptop device for use in lessons at college and home. For more information and recommended
specifications, please see: www.kmc.ac.uk/college/quick-links/policies/.

The following devices must meet the minimum software specification for Student BYOD devices to connect
to Kingston Maurward College resources/network.

(Please note supported operating systems are frequently updated.)

• Android Versions 11 and above
• Apple iOS versions 12 or versions 15 and above (iOS versions 13 and 14 are not supported)
• Apple MacOS 11 (Big Sur) and above
• Supported Chromebooks
• Windows 10 or Windows 11

Windows based and Apple devices (iPhone/iPad excluded) must have a supported Antivirus installed.

Students should have access to a suitable device to be able to complete written assignments and presentations on (i.e. a tablet or laptop). Dependent on personal circumstances help may be available via College bursary or grant to support this.
