Introduction to Trainer Skills - City and Guilds 7300
The course is based on the training cycle, covering:
-Planning including session planning
-Delivery candidates will deliver a 10 to15 minute micro teach which they have planned
- Self, peer and course evaluation.
-Setting ground rules
-Use of ice breakers
-The learning environment
-Gaining and maintaining attention
-Motivation and assessment.
Assessment will be by multiple choice quiz and tutor observation of each delegate's delivery of their "session".
Participants will need to deliver a 10 to15 minute training session to their peer group and take a multiple choice quiz. They will need to have a topic for their training session and be prepared to read handouts in their own time before day two commences.
The course fee includes lunch, refreshments in the morning and afternoon on both days, and the City and Guilds registration fees.
Good standard of English and Maths. Willing to demonstrate enthusiastic skills in presenting to and teaching others.
Progression to the Level3 Award in Education and Training
Useful for anyone who uses planned training or taught sessions as part of their job role. This could include staff mentors, in-house trainers or supervisors who deliver staff training or induction.
