Practical Skills Development – Entry Level
Course Title: Practical Skills Development – Entry Level
Course Code: FD210
This course gives you the opportunity to build on all the skills and knowledge you have learnt from other Skills for Working Life courses and concentrate on gaining more life skills and employability skills.
You will be based with us at Greys Loft the Centre for Foundation Studies and will receive the same level of support you had on previous courses. You will be involved in an exciting social enterprise. This will involve growing produce in our glasshouse and allotment garden, as well as harvesting, marketing and selling it. You will also work in the kitchen to turn some of this produce into a range of preserves which you will sell at our end of term enterprise sale. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to make a range of craft items for these sales. Involvement in the social enterprise will allow you to develop employability, communication, team working, and money handling skills as well as encouraging you to continue to develop your independence.
This Entry Level course gives you another year to build your skills, knowledge and confidence to move onto another course or apprenticeship where you can specialise in the subject of your choice.
