The Level 3 Retail Team Leader Apprenticeship is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to carry out your job role and to support your future progression within the retail sector. You may be managing and supporting a small team of retail assistants, or a department. Your role will be to motivate the team and to help the company achieve their goals and objectives.

Course Content

You will be required to undertake and have an understanding of a number of different core skills, knowledge and behaviours in order to complete this apprenticeship. These include: Retail principles and practices - including brand standards, competition, customer service and feedback and sales and marketing Business principles and practices - including product knowledge, resource management, revenue and unique selling points Merchandising - including retail calendar, local needs, stock control and management Leadership - including decision-making, taking responsibility and coaching and supporting staff Team management - including coaching, conflict management, training and development and team dynamics Communications - including face-to-face, online, verbal and non-verbal skills Health and safety practices, standards and legislation within a retail environment If you do not already hold level 2 functional skills in maths and English (GCSE grade 4 or C), you will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End Point Assessment.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Grade 4 or C in maths and English or level 2 functional skills in maths and English. Entry is subject to a successful interview and you will undertake an initial assessment in maths and English regardless of previous qualifications. You must be working under a suitable and relevant contract of employment for a minimum of 30 hours a week. If you do not have an employer, we may be able to help you find one.
