Introduction

Course Title: Level 3 Extended Diploma in Protective Services
Course Code: OR211

This two year course aims to help develop the skills and knowledge required to gain employment in the uniformed public services. If you are interested in a career in the Police, HM Customs & Excise, Probation Service, Fire & Rescue Service, Immigration or any public sector related job, then this is the course for you.

This qualification requires motivation and a good academic level of achievement as it gives learners the opportunity to progress into Higher Education or employment in the Public Service Sector. The course is specifically designed to provide a balance between academic and 'hands-on'. The first year of study will be focussed on vocational studies whilst the second year will help develop your leadership qualities.

Alongside practical and vocational learning the study programme requires written assignments and classroom work with the aim of developing students to become fully independent researchers, so you will need to be disciplined in your time management of assignments.
