This course enables those returning to education from a range of backgrounds not only provides you the practical skills and knowledge to work with a range of animals but builds confidence in the classroom setting, with the benefits of the beautiful setting in the Dorset countryside.
Taught with a range of lectures, demonstrations, projects and practical sessions with a variety of companion animals, small mammals, reptiles, livestock and birds.
This course requires at least 150 hrs of work experience with an external employer.

Topics covered include:
Animal husbandry including feeding and maintaining accommodation
Animal health, welfare and behaviour
Animal nutrition and breeding
Animal sciences
Business management

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs Grade C/3 or above, including English, maths and science. Recent experience of working with animals. Genuine interest in learning. Motivation to secure a relevent work placement.
