Working with animals can be challenging but is a truly rewarding career.
This is an ideal opportunity to develop your interest and skills in caring for a wide variety of animals and their environment, preparing you for employment or progression to further courses in a beautiful setting.
This course contains a mix of lectures, demonstrations, project and practical workproviding you with the skills and knowledge to either enter employment or continue on in education.
This course requires at least 150 hrs of work experience with an external employer.



C&G Level 2 Technical Certificate in Animal Care

Course Content

Topics covered include:
Animal husbandry, looking after a range of animals including companion, small mammals, birds, reptiles and invertebrates and livestock.
Behaviour and handling and grooming of animals
Animal biology
whilst developing your English and math skills

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 or above (including English Language, maths and science) OR minimum GCSE Grade D/3 and Level 1 Functional Skills. A genuine interest in caring for animals, willingness to learn and motivation to gain a relevant work experience placement.
