This course contains a mix of lectures, demonstrations, project and practical workproviding you with the skills and knowledge to either enter employment or continue on in education.

Course Content

Topics covered include:
Aniaml husbandry, looking after a range of animals including companion, small mammals, birds, reptiles and invertebrates and livestock.
Behaviour and handling and grooming of animals
Animal biology
whilst developing your English and math skills

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 or above (including English Language, maths and science) OR minimum GCSE Grade D/3 and Level 1 Functional Skills. A genuine interest in caring for animals, willingness to learn and motivation to gain a relevant work experience.

Additional Costs

College Academy Uniform. Protective overalls and steel toe-capped boots - all protective equipment will be inspected by the course instructor. Practical clothing suitable for all types of weather conditions is required.
