This is a Level 1 introduction to all construction trades and you will be able to demonstrate to employers that you have what it takes to get started in the construction industry. You will gain all the instruction, experience and confidence you need to develop your practical skills and progress within the construction industry.

You carry out a series of practical tasks in all disiplines and will build a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge under the guidance of a specialist team of industry experienced tutors.

Entry Requirements

Units include: Health and safety, Construction careeer,progression routes and oportunities Hand tool maintenance Plumbing installation and maintenance Introducing rainwater goods Renewing and refitting radiators Carpentry and joinery skills Brickwork skills Blockwork skills Setting out and laying foundastions and gravel paths Basic electrical work Relevant work experience English and maths. £50 annual contribution towards materials

Next Steps

No formal entry requirements however English and maths skills will be assessed at interview for suitability. A keen interest in a career in construction, willingness to learn new skills and undertake practical tasks as well as the ability to work independently and within a team. Basic word processing skills for the production of portfolio evidence is required. You will be required to undertake work experience. Tetanus protection is recommended.
