The Intermediate Apprenticeship in Activity Leadership is designed for those individuals who wish to gain a broad but solid foundation to allow them to follow a career in the outdoor sector or in the active leisure sector as fitness activity leaders and coaches. There are 4 pathways to choose from: Outdoors, Leadership, Coaching and Exercise & Fitness.

Course Content

Depending on your pathway, units can include:
Plan, deliver and conclude sessions
Support the work of the team
Check and service activity equipment
Contribute to environmental conservation.
Anatomy & Physiology
Principles of Coaching Sport
Support development of sports and activity.

English and maths skills will be developed based on your diagnostic assessment and the requirement of the apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements

You will need a keen interest in a career in this subject, be willing to learn new skills and undertake practical tasks. GCSEs including English and maths OR Functional Skills are desirable. You will be required to find suitable, relevant employment.
