Part of the series of whole day workshops (HR178) which are designed for the botanical artist, either as a refresher or masterclass guided by professional standards - terms can be booked separately. Each workshop has a seasonal project theme with botanical investigation and the work to be completed during the following month. Guidance on exhibiting and career opportunities is also given. Your tutor Sally Pinhey is an experienced botanical illustrator.

Plant care
Selecting diagnostic features
Composition, project preparation and planning
Showing depth in the painting
Colour - coping with green, shadow in yellow
Highlighting detail and cross-sections
Stem joints, long leaves and edges
Complex forms, recession
Latin names and botanical terms
Presentation and copyright, exhibiting, taking commissions

Entry Requirements

Previous drawing experience Minimum age is 16 years.
