This is an essential course prior to taking BHS Stage 1 Riding. Get all the skills you need in road safety in order to minimise the risks involved when riding on the road or in the open.

This course is also suitable for all horse riders who hack and wish to hold a riding safely on the roads qualification.

This 2 day course covers:
Theory of riding on the road or open safely
Field Test Preparation
Road Test Preparation

Entry Requirements

Minimum age is 12 years. You must have the ability to walk, trot and canter safely and ride in the open and on the road competantly. Please note that the Equine Academy has a riding weight limit of 13 stone 5lbs (85kg) for all riders.

Participants must be dressed appropriately in outdoor riding wear, body protector, approved riding hat and light coloured gloves.
