CS307 (formerly CS40), a two-day for tree surgeons who want to develop their skills in tree pruning techniques for small and medium mature trees. Includes Health & Safety, crown thinning, crown reduction and selecting tools and equipment.

Assessment is carried out on a separate day by arrangement.

Entry Requirements

CS201/202 - Chainsaw Maintenance, CS203 - Fell Small Trees, CS206/306 - Climb Trees and Perform Aerial Rescue, CS308 - Operate Chainsaw from Rope and Harness (formerly CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39) - or equivalent Students must be aged 16 or over on 1st September of the year in which the course starts Tetanus protection is recommended.

Materials Required

Writing materials - notebook and pen. Packed lunch and drink, especially if we are working away from college all day. Chainsaw Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to current industry standards is required for this course. Work equipment, harnesses, PPE, etc., are available from the college, but candidates’ own may be used, subject to checks by the instructor. National Insurance (NI) number. Waterproofs/change of clothes in case of inclement weather.
