Kingston Maurward Hosts Apprenticeship Business Breakfast with Oliver Letwin

Kingston Maurward College has welcomed MP Oliver Letwin to an Apprenticeship Business Breakfast to speak about the importance of the schemes to businesses ahead of Apprenticeship Week 9th-13th March.

During the event, which was supported by Dorchester Chamber of Commerce, local businesses were invited to enjoy a full English breakfast, an introduction from Kingston Maurward Business Training Advisor Alison Moore, and addresses from sponsors Rob Fox from Porter Dodson and Simon Hartley from Hartley’s Accountants.

Kingston Maurward is the training provider across a broad range of apprenticeships from Customer Service and Animal care, to Horticulture and Retail, for both its own apprentices and those employed externally.

Apprentices employed by the College, Medisave, Dorset Fire & Rescue and Dorset Police & Crime Commissioner attended the breakfast to interact with guests and give feedback and recommendations about their experiences.

Alison Moore said: “We are absolutely delighted to have welcomed sixty local businesses to Kingston Maurward College where we heard from Oliver Letwin, Rob Fox and Simon Hartley about the challenges in finding and keeping a skilled workforce, and how in fact Apprenticeships and traineeships are the way forward.”
