*We reserve the right to amend opening times due to weather or adverse circumstances that may affect our operations. If you’re travelling a long distance or poor weather is forecast, it is advisable to call ahead and check.

Tickets and Bookings

To enjoy a great fun day out that is perfect for all the family, you can purchase our day visitor tickets. Alternatively, why not buy an annual pass so that you can enjoy the animals including goats, ponies, birds, pigs, ducks and alpacas over and over again!

At Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens, we have the landscape and facilities to be able to offer you and your children a wide range of experiences which will in turn support home learning, confidence building and communication development.

Food and Drink

The Barn Café sells lovely fresh barista coffee, and a wide range of teas.Serving delicious locally made sandwiches with generous fillings and hot pastries, along with scrumptious hand made cakes. Open daily from 10am to 5.00pm (See Full Opening Times). During College term time, The Coach House Café is also open Monday to Friday – serving a wide variety of hot meals, salads and tasty snacks to both students and visitors. Find this next to the Main House at the heart of our estate.

We are pleased to welcome visitors who use wheelchairs and pushchairs. Accessible toilets are provided and access to the cafe is possible via ramps. The garden is grade II listed; therefore certain parts are inaccessible for visitors with mobility difficulties and pushchairs. Many parts of the garden are accessible but visitors should be advised that there are gravel paths, steps and steep slopes in places. A map is available at the Visitor Centre which highlights appropriate routes. Our staff will be pleased to assist you whenever possible.

Dogs are welcome to be walked around the Gardens & Lakeside as long as they are kept on a lead. Only assistance dogs are allowed in the Animal Park. Dogs are welcome inside in Visitor Centre/Shop and there is no extra charge for bringing along dogs. We reserve the right to report any animals left inside cars in the car park if we feel they are in distress – but we know you wouldn’t do this.

Birthday Parties

With animals to feed, gardens to discover and a lakeside to explore, Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens offers an exciting location to celebrate any birthday – especially with the addition of our brand new indoor barn and cafe!

Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is clearly signposted just off the A35, three miles east of Dorchester in central Dorset. Getting here is easy and we have plenty of free on−site parking.
