Our dedicated Wedding & Events Team welcomes you to our 18th century mansion house nestled in the stunning Dorset countryside. Conveniently situated close to the county town of Dorchester, Kingston Maurward main house comprises of four elegant rooms, offering the flexibility to accommodate a variety of functions and events. Kingston Maurward has five state rooms that can be utilised for one large event or can be booked individually for smaller meetings, offering the perfect space for additional break out rooms or areas for refreshments and networking.
The Grand Entrance Hall
The striking grand entrance hall with its high ceiling, intricate plasterwork, central chandelier and twin marble fireplaces supplies the ideal opportunity to meet and greet guests. Perfect for registration of your delegates or a drinks reception. On a chilly day the fire can also be lit to provide a cosy and welcoming sight for your delegates.
Maurward Hall
The largest room – Maurward Hall – seats up to 120 delegates for dinner or 200 theatre style for a large presentation. With its panoramic large windows and direct access to the terrace it has an ambience of light and space, with the latest in audio visual facilities. This adaptable room offers a first class venue for a large function.
Pengelly Room
Leading off from the Grand Entrance Hall is the mansion’s former music room, the Pengelly Room. Beautifully decorated with intricate Italian hand-painted walls & ceilings, and its large sash windows give plenty of natural light. This room is ideal for larger functions of up to 90 delegates. The Pengelly Room has stunning views overlooking the estate’s rolling lawn, five acre lake and Dorset countryside beyond. It has double doors opening onto the terrace – the perfect place to serve your drinks reception on warm summer days. This beautiful room will impress your guests and creates an excellent opportunity to set the tone for your event.
Whatmoor Room
Adjoining the Pengelly Room is the Whatmoor Room – with five floor to ceiling windows with views of both the lake and ornamental lily pond. This light and airy room is perfect for smaller meetings accommodating up to 30 delegates. It can be used exclusively or as a break out space from the Pengelly Room for workshops or seminars.
Old Library
The Old Library has original solid oak panelling and a fireplace surrounded by magnificent bookshelves. Leading off the Grand Entrance Hall, it is perfect for smaller meetings accommodating up to 40 delegates. The Old Library offers a functional space for a small meeting or break out room in conjunction with a large conference.
