Full-time Courses

Kingston Maurward College’s full-time study programmes are specifically designed to provide students with a practical hands-on approach as well as essential classroom learning. All of our qualifications are nationally recognised and their equivalent qualifications are explained below.

You can begin studying with us at any level, provided that you meet all of the entry requirements of the course, sit an English and maths assessment and complete a successful interview.

Entry Level – If you want to gain a qualification that is recognised across the UK, but don’t feel ready for GCSEs or other qualifications, this could be the starting point for you. These courses are suitable if you have additional needs, learning disabilities or difficulties.

Level 1 Diplomas and Certificates – These courses are designed to give you a basic understanding of your chosen subject area as well as teach you practical skills. They will give you a qualification equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grade 3-1 or D-G.Level 2 Diploma Certificates and Technical Certificates – These courses are designed to build knowledge and skills for jobs requiring technical understanding. They will give you a qualification equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 or A*-C. Successful students could expect to enter work in their chosen field or progress to Level 3 Diplomas to gain higher training for supervisory roles.

Level 3 Diplomas – One Year Courses and Advanced Technical Diplomas – The one year Level 3 Diplomas are suited to students that enjoy a practical learning style and mature learners looking for a career change.

Level 3 Extended Diplomas – Two Year Courses or Advanced Technical Extended Diplomas – These are advanced courses that develop higher technical skills and detailed understanding and knowledge about a specific area. Extended Diplomas provide an alternative entry route to university.
