Agriculture Apprenticeships are Changing

From September, changes are being made to the apprenticeship provision in agriculture. The Level 2 Stockperson is being withdrawn, to be replaced by the Level 2 General Farm Worker. However, there will also be a new apprenticeship at Level 3 called the Livestock Unit Technician. There has always been an apprenticeship at Level 3 in the guise of the Crop Technician, but there was real route at Level 2 to get to it, and if an apprentice completed the Level 2 Stockperson, there options on where to go next were very limited.
The new changes provide a much better progression pathway from Level 2 to Level 3 (and then on to Level 4). Not only that, but the new Level 2 General Farm Worker is half the price of the Level 2 Stockperson – making it even cheaper for employers!
To find out more, request a callback and we’ll get in touch with you to discuss the new apprenticeships and how they can help you achieve your business goals.
