Hours: 0.4 – 0.8 fractional appointment available * – 14.8 – 29.6 hours per week

Salary: At a range of £20,453 – £25,837 pro rata which are Point 4B – 9C on the Academic Staff Salary Scale dependent on qualifications and experience (this FTE would be adjusted dependent on hours and pay scale appointed to)
Job Purpose: To teach and assess agriculture and other land-based units on a range of courses at Level 1 to Level 4.

If you are an enthusiastic and self-motivated Agriculture Lecturer or Course Manager with the ability to deliver high quality, inspiring lectures and practical teaching sessions at Levels 1 – 4 then you should apply for the role.
Much of this teaching will take place on the College’s own 280ha commercially run mixed farm. Teaching will cover a range of agriculture units that include machinery operations like Tractor driving, telehandler, ATV, brushcutters and chain saws, Care of Animals, Business Management and Practical skills.
To succeed in this role, you will have good communication skills, a flexible and positive attitude as well as the ability to challenge and motivate students. You will also need to demonstrate some of these practical skills so you will be getting your hands dirty! Teaching qualifications and an agricultural (or similar) qualification Level 3 or above is required.
The role promises a varied and interesting workload. The successful applicant will have plenty of vocational experience as well as being able to demonstrate strong administrative and organisational abilities in order to perform the role successfully. The role would suit someone who has worked in industry and is now seeking a new challenge.
