Hours: 39 per week, worked over Monday to Sunday with flexibility to meet business needs
Salary: £22,895 per annum which is Point A31 on the Support Staff Salary Scale. In addition, on-site accommodation may be available.
Job Purpose: To manage and develop The Kingston Maurward Animal Park
Vision: The College is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated service-driven professional. Reporting into the Commercial Finance Manager, this role will be instrumental in driving visitor excellence and ensuring the delivery of optimised revenue through admissions, membership and other commercial activity including through our in-house catering and venue hire contract.
You will need to be creative, an excellent communicator and have experience of people engagement, ideally in a visitor attraction setting. Someone who understands the importance of brand values, and who can create an experience for all visitors to enjoy, ensuring they leave having had a memorable time.
You will lead on membership recruitment, education and visitor experience and lead the team to deliver a quality experience for all visitors.
This role is for someone who wants to create innovative experiences for visitors from all walks of life, has a passion for people engagement and learning, and understands what good visitor standards look like. You will need to look for new opportunities to develop the interpretation and visitor experience on site and have a clear understanding of income generation and your contribution to this. You will work to develop commercial opportunities to assist the college’s financial security, maximise income and profitability for your department and the wider organisation, while having strong controls on expenditure. Managing a small team of permanent and casual staff you will work proactively alongside colleagues elsewhere on the campus to promote our services.

The role of the Animal Park Manager will work to create an outstanding reputation for these services and be recognised locally and nationally by the public and our peers alike.
