Hours: 37 per week Monday-Sunday on a rota basis.

Salary: £7,118.80 per annum (£3.70 per hour) paid in monthly instalments. This is the National Apprenticeship rate of pay for apprentices if they are either aged under 19 or aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship.  Apprentices are entitled to the National Minimum (NMW) or National Living Wage (NLW) for their age if they are aged 19 or over and once they have completed the first year of their apprenticeship.  More information is also available on the government web site www.gov.uk.

Job Purpose: To partly assist the Stable Manager and Assistant Yard Manager with the smooth running of the yard and partly to assist the Event Secretary with the running and organising of Equine events.

Vision: We are looking for a dedicated and self-motivated person with strong interests in working with people as well as with horses.

You should be confident with the care and handling of horses and must also have the ability to supervise groups of students to ensure their Health and Safety as well as the welfare of the horses at all times.  Good communication skills are essential as you will also work alongside fellow Equine staff in instructing a variety of student groups on good working practices.

Status: Fixed Term for 15 / 18 months (dependent on the level of qualification undertaking) or until the qualification has been achieved, whichever is the earlier.
