Hours: 37 hours per week on a term-time only basis – 37 working weeks and 42 paid weeks. The annual leave is a pro rata entitlement of 33 days per annum (25 days plus 8 public and bank holidays)
Salary: The salary for the post is at a range of £14,625.69 – £20,384 per annum (£18,108 – £20,384 per annum pro rata) which are Point LS15 – LS19 on the Learning Support Staff salary scale
Job Purpose: To oversee and co-ordinate course administrative tasks and to provide effective pastoral and academic support through supporting a tutorial programme of activities to prepare students for the transition to college and for life beyond and hence contribute to raising the College’s success rate
Vision: We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced course administrator / pastoral care worker to join our teaching team to assist in support of our Animal Welfare and Science students. You will also take a key role in expanding our course provision and providing welfare support to the students. . You will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and experience of supporting young people, especially those with personal, social or behavioural difficulties.
You will be working with the Head of Department and other team members to support high quality courses to a wide range of full time learners. The successful person will have the ability to oversee and co-ordinate course administrative tasks and to effectively support students in a pastoral and academic capacity. You will be a good communicator, have a real enthusiasm for the subject and be able to work with people on a variety of different level courses. You may also be required to teach some aspects of the courses in order to cover for staff absence.
