Rocket Science at Kingston Maurward College

At the end of 2015 Horticulture students at Kingston Maurward College embarked on a six month national Rocket Science experiment where ordinary plant seeds were taken into space on the Soyuz 44S with Astronaut Scott Kelly and upon their return the seeds were planted to see if anything changed from being ‘normal’ seeds to ‘modified’ seeds. Prize Winners Celebrated at End of Year Ceremony

This year’s Kingston Maurward College Prize Giving Ceremony celebrated another successful year with 694 students completing their courses, among which 119 special awards were made. Success for students in Sixth NFU Agricultural Student of the Year competition

The sixth year of the celebrated NFU Agricultural Student of the Year Competition at Kingston Maurward College resulted in a unanimous win for 18 year old Jakub Korczowski, with runners up Emily Honeybun and Burt Meaden. The Award was initiated in 2011 by the NFU in conjunction with C&O Tractors Ltd and New Holland, who wanted to support a credible accreditation that would aid young farmers in their future careers. Chair of Governors, Jim Tirrell, is pleased to make the following announcement: ‘Governors are pleased to announce that Mr Luke Rake will take up the role of Principal of Kingston Maurward College in August. New Agri-tech centre opens at Kingston Maurward College
