Profile
Mat is a zoologist and ecologist with specialisms in the marine environment. As a zoologist he has a deep passion for the taxonomy and understanding of marine invertebrates in particular, but is interested in the conservation of all marine and coastal life. He also uses his links with organisations such as the National trust to monitor coastal change at Studland Beach in Dorset using the active involvement of students in this long term project. Future developments will be working with various organisations involved with monitoring cetaceans in the English Channel and other areas of the UK. He is an experienced lecturer in Higher Education and leader of a committed team of specialists delivering degree programmes at KMC.
