Ideal for the sport enthusiast who is keen to participate in a variety of sports whilst studying coaching and fitness at a greater depth. Equivalent to 1 A Level this course is designed to develop your understanding of health fitness coaching and sports development and enable you to specialise either in the Outdoor Adventure or the Sport and Fitness pathways.

This qualification enables you to develop your skills through applied learning and prepare you for a higher education course or a job in the Outdoor or Sports sectors.

The course has a large practical element where, depending on your selected pathway, you will specialise in kayaking, climbing, caving, bushcraft, navigation, mountain biking and sailing, or take part in individual or team sports including football, basketball, badminton, golf, fencing, personal training and cricket.

All students will take part in fitness training, personal development and team building activities including high ropes activities and will be involved in aspects of leadership and sport coaching.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at grades A*-C, including English and maths OR Functional Skills at Level 2 OR First Diploma at Merit level You will need a proven enthusiasm and experience in outdoor adventure You will be required to complete a work placement.
