90 Credit Diploma in Sport (QCF)
Principles of anatomy and physiology in sport, the physiology of fitness, sports nutrition, assessing risk in sport, leadership in sport, skills for land based outdoor and adventurous activities, skills for water based outdoor and adventurous activities, work experience in sport.
Practical content includes:
Climbing, mountain biking, caving, bush craft, navigation, paddlesport (kayaking & canoeing), ropes course, archery, orienteering (including competitions), personal training (gym) and team sports.
You will also have the opportunity to gain other Awards throughout the course:
BCU/UKCC Paddlepower, 1 or 2 Star Award
BCU/UKCC Foundation Safety & Rescue (FSRT)
BCU/UKCC Level 1 Paddlesport Coach Training & Assessment
Climbing Wall Award
RYA Sailing course Level 1
First Aid qualification
Mountain Biking Instructor Training & Assessment (MIAS)

4 GCSEs at grades A*-C, including English and maths OR Level 2 Diploma at Merit level plus functional skills at Level 2
You will need a proven enthusiasm and experience in outdoor adventure
You will be required to complete a work placement.
Year 2 Level 3 - Extended Diploma in Outdoor Adventure
Level 3 - Professional Outdoor Instructor
Foundation Degree / Higher Education
Outdoor activity instructor, leisure centre instructor, sports coach, career in the armed forces, fitness instructor.
This is also an ideal course for someone considering entering the public services, youth work, leisure centres and holiday parks.
