Whether you are intending to keep your own sheep, already are, or are just interested in the subject, this course will give you the necessary underpinning knowledge and practical skills to successfully look after them The Level 2 Diploma also includes workplace assessments of the student on a sheep farm, plus an additional 5 days in college in order to complete the portfolio required.

Students will use the College farm’s flock of 400 breeding ewes. There will also be visits to other nearby farms.

Entry Requirements

Interest in sheep. Students wishing to take the Level 2 Diploma should speak to the Course Tutor. Women who are pregnant cannot take part in any practicals that involve lambing or handling pregnant sheep. Anyone living with a pregnant woman must discuss health and safety precautions with the Tutor.
