This exciting course offers you the opportunity to develop your interests and skills in caring for a wide variety of animals and their varying environments whilst preparing you for employment or progression to further courses.
This course contains a mix of lectures, demonstrations and practical work aimed to give you a more indepth understanding of biology and behaviour PLUS one day a week work experience at an animal related organisation.

- Functional Skills (English and maths)

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at Grade D or above (including English Language, Maths and Science) or a Level 2 Extended Certificate in Animal Care at Distinction level or a Level 1 Diploma in Animal Care and minimum GCSE Grade D in English Language, Maths and Science and Level 1 Functional Skills. A genuine interest in animals, willingness to learn and the ability to cope with written work in a classroom environment is essential and recent experience of working with animals is required. A work placement for 1 day a week in an animal establishment must be secured. You must be prepared to work outside in all weathers with a wide range of animals.
