This is a new course and one that's sure to be popular, as it involves really working with your horse on the ground, and throught a series of obstacles building your horse confidence not only in his own ability but in his handler. This course is a foundation for riding TREC courses but is also extremely useful for teaching your horse to think about challenging situations from the ground and then when a rider is on board.

Course Content

The obstacles are simple… at first, but they are a true test of whether you really do have full cooperation and control of your horse on the ground. They will allow you to teach the horse to listen and wait for instruction
As the obstacles increase in complexity the horse will learn to listen, wait and complete the obstacle on your cue
Obstacles include:
- Barrels
- Tarpaulin
- Wooden bridge
- Steps ups and step downs
- Placing each of the horses feet in a square and not moving until asked
- Backing up through an 'L' and then a double 'L' without stepping outside the poles
- Corridor of plastic bags
- Curtain of Ribbons

Entry Requirements

This course is ideally suited for those candidates who have a genuine interest and passion in the care and welfare of horses. You must complete the first unit in Equine Behaviour (EQ076) and then you can enrol on any of the other units individually.
