This new Apprenticeship Standard is based on employer need and is designed for learners wishing to gain the skills and knowledge to carry out job roles and responsibilities associated with carrying out general maintenance and the safe and effective management of the building.

Level 2 Diploma in Property Maintenance

Course Content

Units include:
Understand the roles, responsibilities and reporting procedures of a property maintenance operative
Health and safety in property maintenance
Apply customer service in property maintenance
Carrying out painting and tiling tasks
Plan and carry out preventative property maintenance
Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs
Carry out electrical testing and repairs
Understand and maintain heating ventilation and air
conditioning plant
Internal and External Building Fabric Maintenance
Understand energy, environment and sustainable practices within property maintenance
Control of property maintenance related resources and equipment
Working with external contractors

Entry Requirements

Individual employers will set their selection criteria but the standard includes English and maths functional skills at Level 1, with the opportunity for apprentices to go on to the next level. Employers will set the entry specification suitable for the correct level of the individual.
