Taster course for budding veterinarians.
This is an essential residential week long course for lower sixth students who are planning on applying to veterinary school in Sept/Oct to become a veterinarian. It will give you the crucial experience required to get your application noticed by the admissions team of any veterinary college.
The course will aim to give students an appreciation of what life is like as a large animal vet.
From experiencing a routine vet visit at the college dairy farm to life as pharmaceutical vet.
There will be visits to an abattoir, fat stock auction sales and other specialist farms who are well respected in the industry. Lab work will be conducted by one of our renown resident vets who will also take you through care of the dairy cow foot on farm. At Royal veterinary college will also be able to let you know what the current thinking is with some of the diseases that occur in farm animals.
You will also be able to chat with current Royal veterinary students.
