This course is designed to train a tutor to operate within an active leisure and learning environment.

Successful completion of the qualification will enable the tutor to work in either the public or private sector delivering learning programmes, such as a UKCC coaching qualification.

Course Content

The Award is made up of 3 mandatory units, 2 of which have optional pathways. To achieve the Award successful learners must achieve 12 credits.

Group A:
Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training (3 credits).

Group B:
Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training (6 credits), or
Facilitate learning and development in groups (6 credits), or
Facilitate learning and development for individuals (6 credits).

Group C:
Understanding assessment in education and training (3 credits), or
Understanding the principles and practices of assessment.

Entry Requirements

GCSE at grades A*- C, or equivalent, in English Minimum age of 19.

Next Steps

Once experienced within a teaching environment, opportunity to progress onto CTLLS or DTLLS.

Career Opportunities

Work within the UKCC structure working for National Governing Body or Centre for Sport.
