Diploma in Work-Based Horticulture (QCF)
Learn via training at college, followed by additional assessment at your place of work and completion of projects based on industry subjects. The completion of your portfolio will typically take between 12-18 months depending upon your skills and experience.
Your portfolio and units selected will reflect your skills in planning, monitoring and evaluation, for example:
Estimate and programme resources
Manage drainage and irrigation
Establishing grass swards
Evaluate ground and environmental conditions
Planning for Sports Turf or Decorative ornamental features
Manage pests, diseases and disorders.
GCSE A*-C or equivalent English and maths
Level 2 Horticulture or related qualification
you will be required to find suitable relevant employment
An interview with the course tutor is required before a place on the course is offered.
