This year’s Kingston Maurward Summer Open Day on Sunday 11th June is set to be the biggest and best yet with fun for the whole family…and for the first time ever it’s free admission for absolutely everyone!
The fun-filled event centres around the stunning 18th Century Mansion House and its 750 acre estate, terrace, lake and gardens. Enjoy the live music, dog shows, birds of prey, pony rides and tractor driving; browse trade stands, buy local produce from the Dorset Food and Drink vendors and watch student demonstrations throughout the day.
This year Kingston Maurward launched a Facebook competition to find new local musical talent – and with a fantastic response five of the best will be featuring on the day! Meet Jade, Lee, K8, Shermieanne and Waiting for Earthquakes. Plus up and coming recording artist Lili White from Blandford, and ‘The Academy Jazz Band’ Principals from Kingston Maurward and Weymouth Colleges – Luke Rake and Nigel Evans – delivering some cool jazz on the main stage at 12.30pm – it’s not to be missed!
For school leavers Open Day is the perfect opportunity to find out all about the College too: agriculture, countryside management, equine, animal welfare & science, horticulture, outdoor education, foundation learning and much more; and there’s still time to apply for full-time courses starting this September – expert tutors will be on hand to discuss any queries and to help students apply.
Stroll through the beautiful gardens to the cider in the orchard or fizz at the equine arena, or down to the Animal Park for circus skills, bouncy castle, soft play area and even Guinea pig fishing!
For the perfect day out for all the family come along to the Kingston Maurward Open Day – doors are open from 10am til 5pm for the ultimate summer fun in the sun!
