Sophie’s fundraising for furry friends

The eighteen year old animal lover from Bridport felt strongly about raising funds for the charity and took it upon herself to sell cards, loom band cats and dogs, mince pies and cakes for Christmas – all handmade by Sophie and her grandmother.

Active member of Student Council, Sophie, said: “Taylor’s RSPCA holds a special place in my heart as several of my family’s pets have been here, and I admire what they do, so I wanted to raise money for such a worthy cause.”

Sophie – who is currently studying towards her Level 1 Introduction to Horse Care and intends to move on to the Level 2 Diploma in Horse Care in September –  is setting the wheels in motion for further fundraising with fellow equine students over the next few months.

Sophie Simmonds, from Taylor’s RSPCA, said: “As we are self-funded we are always delighted to receive donations both large and small for our animals. Whether it’s for toys, food or equipment – all the funds go straight to the animals – so we are very proud of Sophie and incredibly grateful for her efforts.”
