Dorchester Middle School Students get Active at Kingston Maurward

Dorchester middle School, Kingston Maurward College, Outdoor AdventureStudents from Dorchester Middle School took part in a number of outdoor activities as part of this year’s Activities Week. Many of the year 7 and 8 students stepped out of their comfort zones trialling activities they had never tried before including tree climbing with the Arboriculture team, ropes course and archery with the Outdoor Adventure team, dry stone walling with the Construction team , animal handling and horse care.

Student Alexander Constantine said of the tree climbing: “This is the first time I’ve done it – it’s fun and tiring! I’d definitely do it again, I was a bit scared of heights before so I think this has helped me.”Dorchester Middle School, Kingston Maurward College, Outdoor Adventure

Dorchester Middle School Support Supervisor, Heather Granger said: “Though the various activities the children have experienced, they’ve learned trust and teambuilding, and some of them have really come out of themselves – it’s been wonderful to see the children encouraging each other throughout the day.”
