Sources of Financial Help

Learner Support Fund

The College can help full-time further education students (following a course of at least 12 guided learning hours per week) with either college transport or college residential accommodation, with childcare (learners aged 20 or over as there is a separate Government scheme for younger learners) and with certain essential course related costs. We can also help with financial hardship and emergencies. Awards from the Fund are income assessed and are subject to you meeting certain conditions. For more information please email alan.hall@kmc.ac.uk

EMA (Education Maintenance Allowance) and ALS (Adult Learning Grant)

These types of financial support will no longer be available for courses starting in September 2012. Instead, all new students can apply for financial assistance through the Learner Support Fund.

Small Print

Please note: The college reserves the right, by giving notice to the student at any time before the start of the course, to increase the course fee to reflect any cost increase that is beyond our control. This could include any significant increase in the operating costs or materials, failure by the student to provide accurate information or due to changes in Government funding.

The college has to access funding from the Government in order to run certain courses. to do this there is a requirement for students to complete an exam. we encourage all our students to gain a qualification but if you do not wish to take the exam, it makes the cost of running the course more expensive. Therefore you would be asked to pay the 'full cost' price of the course.

Fees may be subject to change. Some grants and concessions maybe subject to change.
