Scorching Success for Summer Show
Summer arrived just in time for this year’s Kingston Maurward College Open Day and Country fair!
The sun shone down all day on the dog shows, owl and reptile displays, kayaking on the lake, Jazz on the terrace and picnicking on the lawn.
Record numbers flocked through the gates for fun events and activities with crowds of people gathering to see star attraction Shaun Ellis and his wolves. The TV wolf man and his team showed their canine skills working with the magnificent animals in demonstrations during the day.
New students starting in September visited their academy areas and met tutors and attending an address by Principal Clare Davison in the Learning Resources Centre.
Fun was had by all the family throughout the day with miniature gauge train, tractor trailer rides and Kingston Maurward’s very own ferret racing which was a hit with both young and old alike.
Clare Davison said: “I’m on a high from it all - it was a complete and absolute success for the College, the traders and the public. The atmosphere was almost tangible; we all had a truly wonderful day!”
