Keeper for The Day
Introduction
This very popular day gives 9−13 year olds the chance to work alongside the animal keepers at the Animal Park and Animal Care Centre. Experience looking after a range of animals, from farm animals and small mammals to reptiles and fish.
Course Content
Jobs include:
- Feeding
- Mucking out
- Grooming
- Health checks
- Handling
Entry Requirements
You must be aged between 9 -13 years old and have an interest in animals. Please note: Due to the popularity of this course, each child can only book for one day.

Saturday Bug Club for 5 to 10 years
This fun club is for 5−10 year olds meets one Saturday a month and activities are based around animals at the Farm Park and wildlife in Kingston Maurward's extensive gardens and parkland.

Saturday ACE Club (Animal Conservation and Environment) for 10 to 13 years
This is a great follow-on from the Bug Club or suitable for first time older children who wish to widen their knowledge of animals and the environment. The club meets every month throughout the year, during which time children are given the opportunity to explore in greater detail various environmental and animal-based topics. The hands−on sessions will use the fantastic facilities at our Animal Care Centre, Animal Park, laboratories, gardens, parkland, farm and local woodland.

Junior Keepers Club for 9-13 years
This holiday club gives young animal enthusiasts a fantastic opportunity to work alongside the College's animal keepers.
You will be actively involved in the day to day running of the two specialist animal facilities at the Animal Care Centre and Animal Park. This is a great experience for any young person who loves animals.
