Wedding of the Month - March - Lindsey & Stephen Coward

Our 2012 wedding season got off to a fabulous start this February, with the wedding reception of Lindsey Miller & Stephen Coward both from Chickerell, Weymouth.

After a ceremony at St Mary’s Church, Chickerell the wedding party arrived at Kingston Maurward in style with the bride & groom in a vintage 1935 Austin London cab (apparently the only one of its kind still road worthy).

Lindsey looked stunning in her Mori Lee gown, with its delicate lace bodice and long flowing train. Her Elisabeth Dickens veil added the finishing elegant touch. The pretty bridesmaids’ dresses were from local bridal wear store Bridal & Ball in Weymouth.

Guests were welcomed to Kingston Maurward with a roaring fire in the Main Hall and with drinks and canapés served in The Pengelly Suite, overlooking the Lake. The gorgeous gardens were the perfect backdrop for their photographs and the weather proved to be more spring like than winter!

The attention to detail in all the trimmings really showed particularly in the dressing of the House. The colour theme chosen by the bride and groom was teal (a lovely petrol blue colour), white and sliver.

The marquee lining in the main reception room was offset with a silver pelmet and pretty LED fairy lighting. The chairs were covered with silver bows and finished with the prettiest petrol blue/teal butterflies. The table centre pieces consisted of large mirror plates, with giant bubble bowls filled with delicate white roses & butterflies and teal petals scattered over the table.

The groom’s mother worked hard making pretty matching favours, place names, invitations and even a pretty little-bo peep style basket used by the bridesmaids to give out additional favour to the evening guests.

The brides nan made the cake – very pretty with roses on each layer and following the trend of having a different flavour for each tier.

Local band Shooter provided the main entertainment, with help from disco. Some fun and quirky additional touches were the life size Mr & Mrs balloons, slide show of the bride and groom as children and a fantastic surprise film show of all the guests including the vicar singing along to Perfect Day! Also one of the guests gave an impromptu performance of Tom Jones.

“The comments we have received back from guests have been brilliant. What a beautiful day. Everything went so smoothly and ended as the video said “what a perfect day”.... Stephen and Lindsey chose Kingston Maurward because of the setting, grounds and the price wasn’t ridiculous.
The help and organisation of staff particularly Jenna & Darlene”
