Civil Ceremonies
Civil ceremonies allow you to organise your entire special day from the ceremony to the reception within one venue. We are licensed to hold ceremonies any day of the week with or without a reception to follow.
Once you have decided on a provisional date and time with us, you will need to contact the Superintendent Registrar. The Registrar will take a provisional booking up to twelve months in advance, although a confirmation must be made three months prior to the date. Further information and details of their charges are available from Weymouth Register Office.
Telephone: 01305 760899
Email: weymouthregisteroffice@dorsetcc.gov.uk
The ceremony lasts for approximately 15 minutes and in accordance with the Civil Wedding Act, ceremonies must not contain any religious material. You may make use of poetry and music, although this must be submitted to the Superintendant Registrar for approval.
You may require different pieces of music as your guests arrive, for signing the register, for the Processional and the Recessional. Compact disc format is preferable. Please mark the pieces clearly. Alternatively you may arrange for musicians to play for you.
Kingston Maurward will supply flowers (in the colour of your choice) for the registrar’s table and a sound system for your music.
