Apprenticeships

The Heat is on for Apprentice Liam

BRIDPORT’S Liam Keating made a water-tight choice when he decided to pursue an Apprenticeship in plumbing.

Working with CAS Plumbing and Heating in Bridport four days every week and studying at the College
one day a week, Liam decided that a career in Plumbing was to become a lucrative
and rewarding vocation.

He said: “There is always a need for plumbers, and I like helping people by getting things to work.
There’s nothing more satisfying than getting someone’s heating or hot water back on for them.”

Plumbing apprentices study taps, radiators, airing cupboards and full bathroom installations at college,
with thirteen module tests to be completed during the Apprenticeship. Students are also assessed on
health and safety, sheet lead and sanitation during the course, with on-site assessment at customers’ houses.
