Hours: 37 hours per week, which may include weekend shift work during functions and events

Salary: £6,734 per annum (£3.50 per hour) paid in monthly instalments. This is the National Apprenticeship rate of pay for apprentices if they are either aged under 19 or aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship.  Apprentices are entitled to the National Minimum (NMW) or National Living Wage (NLW) for their age if they are aged 19 or over and once they have completed the first year of their apprenticeship.  More information is also available on the government web site www.gov.uk.

Job Purpose: Primarily to support and assist the Catering Team with the day to day running of the department as well as fulfilling all the requirements to successfully complete the Apprenticeship Framework.  This will include an NVQ Level 2, underpinning knowledge certificate, Functional Skills and Industry Qualifications.

We are looking for enthusiastic people who are naturally outgoing to work within our College Catering department. You will be involved in providing high quality service to our students, staff and visitors to the campus. A flexible and positive “can do” attitude is required and although general Hospitality experience is desirable it is not essential.  Whilst you are working with us you will gain valuable experience in a workplace environment whilst gaining a Level 2 qualification. As the leading agricultural college in the area Kingston Maurward is ideally placed to promote food for the benefit of our students and the rural economy and is an amazing place to earn whilst you learn.

Status: Fixed term post for 15 months or until the apprenticeship is completed, whichever is the earlier.
