Lambing Weekend

Lambing Weekends at Kingston Maurward, Dorchester

6/7 and 13/14 March – 10am to 4pm

Spring wouldn’t be the same without newborn lambs and there will be lots to see at our two lambing weekends in March. If your children have not seen the lambs at Kingston Maurward before they will be thrilled to see so many lambs in the lambing sheds, some will only be a few hours old and just beginning to bond with their Mothers, others will be a few days old and already giving Mum a really hard time, running and jumping around their pen with their friends trying to burn off their excess energy.

If you are really lucky you may be able to see some lambs being born and if not there will still be lots of very young lambs to see. You can get close to the ewes and their lambs, ask lots of questions or take a guided tour of the lambing sheds with one of our staff. Free tractor and trailer rides will be available (weather permitting) and you will be able to see the older lambs who have been put out to grass as well as some of the rest of this beautiful Estate.

The Spring flowers will be in full bloom and will be a delightful sight as you walk around the formal gardens and lakeside. The animals in the animal park will also want to say hello to you and various animal “meet & greet” sessions will take place throughout the day. Browse in the shop and plant sales area or enjoy some light refreshments.
