Full Time Further Education

Your learning is FREE if you are a UK or EU student, aged under 19 years on 31st August in the academic year you start your course.

Aged over 19?

The cost of a full-time course for the academic year 2011/12 (starting September 2011) will be £990 per year. The only exceptions are  AD201, AD202, AD203 and IT902 which are £725 per year. Some courses such as Floristry may have additional materials costs. Based on a 33 week term that is only a charge of £30 a week i.e. £10 a day for a 3 week course and £7.50 for a 4 day course.

Work-based Learning / Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships, NVQs and Entry to Employment (e2e) courses are all free of charge to anyone aged between 16-18. An employer would be required to make a contribution if you are over 19.

Part Time Courses

The full price is shown against each course and normally includes all registration and any exam fees. There may be exceptions where payment for additional materials or other associated costs are required. Please contact us if you are unsure.

Tuition Fee Remission**

Tuition fee remission can apply on certain courses if you are an EU resident, aged over 19 and in receipt of one of the benefits listed below. Proof of benefit must be provided to the college at the time of booking.
● Job Seekers Allowance
● ESA (Employment and Support Allowance) in the Work-Related Activity Group
Or, you are a UK citizen living in England and
● aged 19 or over and taking your first full Level 2 course
● aged 19-25 and taking your first full Level 3 course or
● aged 19 or over and taking your first full Level 3 course without having a full Level 2 qualification
● following a Basic Skills course.

How To Pay

If you are aged 19 or over, you will be asked to pay a deposit of £250* when you are offered a place on your course (a certain amount is non-refundable). The remaining amount is paid on your enrolment day. The deposit will be fully refunded should you not wish to progress with your course following price announcements:

  • We have to cancel the course
  • We have to make a change to the time or location and you are no longer able to attend
  • In exceptional circumstance, at the discretion of our Principal

For your convenience, you can pay in a number of ways
 

  • Debit / Credit card (Not American Express,Diners Club or Solo)
  • Cash (in person only – please do not post!)
  • Cheque or postal orders (made payable to Kingston Maurward College)

EMA (Education Maintenance Allowance)

EMA will close to new applicants in England from January 2011. Please contact us about Learner support funds, designed to help students who most need it to continue in learning. If you currently get EMA you will continue to receive it for the rest of this academic year, but you will not receive it next academic year.

ALG (Adult Learning Grant )

It's never too late to learn new skills and with the Adult Learning Grant (ALG), you could get up to £30 per week while you’re studying - letting you focus on getting where you want to be in life.
Money is paid directly into your bank account but you must be studying for your first Level 2 or Level 3 course. You’ll receive up to £30 per week, depending on your circumstances. There is no upper age limit on taking a Level 2 qualification but the age limit for a Level 3 is 31. Application forms are available from Student Support.

 

 

When you apply for a place on your course, you will be asked to pay a non-refundable reservation fee of between £10-30, depending on the overall price of your course. The balance is payable 30 days before the course start date.
 
Courses costing £25 or less must be paid for in full when you book a place on your course.
 
All our prices are reviewed each year: any revised costs may apply in your second or third year.
 
If the course costs more than £200 and is over 13 weeks long, you can apply to pay in instalments. Your first instalment must be paid 30 days before enrolment.
