Is it right for me?
This is an ideal practical course for those wishing to start developing knowledge of computerised accounting skills.
We will be using the software SAGE Line 50 Version 13 (the more advanced version of SAGE Instant, which can be purchased on the course at a discounted rate).
What qualifications will I need?
A knowledge of book−keeping or accounts would be an advantage, but is not essential. However, you will need to have some basic IT skills.
What will I be learning about?
During the 12 weeks you will cover the basics of Sage Accounting.
- Create customer, supplier and nominal accounts.
- Record capital introduced into the business.
- Batch sales / purchase invoices and credit invoices.
- Record customer receipts.
- Pay suppliers' accounts.
- Record customers' cheques returned "Return to Drawer".
- Create service invoices / credit notes.
- Pay wages and create Wages Journal.
If time permits.
- Set up and process recurring entries and Contra entries.
- Produce VAT return and Journal Sales / Purchase Tax.
- Reconcile a bank account.
- Transfer manual accounts to computerised system.
