Is it right for me?

Equine massage can be used as a treatment for horses recovering from injury and can benefit older horses or those prone to stiffness. You may bring your own horse along to the sessions to practice on under the supervision of the tutor.

What will I be learning about?

The pressures we exert on horses, for both pleasure and competition, can result in muscle tension, soft tissue injury, soreness and stiffness. For example, a horse may be seen as preferring one rein, becoming anxious and nervous, showing uneven strides or objecting to being tacked up or groomed.

Equine massage can be used as a rehabilitation treatment for horses recovering from an injury. Competition horses can benefit from pre or post−competition massages to keep them supple and relaxed.

It is a very pleasurable experience for the horse and can act as a therapeutic treatment for stressed or nervous horses. Used regularly, equine massage can benefit older horses or those prone to stiffness.
