Is it right for me?
Progression from Level 2. Subjects include common injuries and ailments, horse clothing and bandaging, getting horses fit and roughing them off, care / transport of horses at competitive events, stable design / construction, clipping, trimming and plaiting.
What will I be learning about?
This is a progressive course and expands on the Horse Owners Certificate Level 2. This course is aimed at a real horse enthusiast, owner or groom. The course is a mixture of classroom based theory sessions with some practical sessions at Manor Stables with our horses.

- Common injuries and ailments
- Horse clothing and bandaging
- Starting to get horses fit and roughing them off
- How to look after horses at competitive events
- Transporting horses
- Stable design and construction
- Clipping, trimming and plaiting
Where will it take me?
This is the third of four British Horse Society progressive horse knowledge and care courses run at Kingston Maurward College. This is a vocational interest course.
What's Required?
An interest in horses. Minimum age for this course is 14 years. Tetanus protection is recommended.

How will I be assessed?
There is a short written paper at the end of the course to achieve the Horse Owners Certificate.
