Academy of Arboriculture
Arboriculture involves all aspects of the establishment, cultivation, management and production of trees in the landscape. Concern for the preservation of trees in urban and rural areas as well as high-profile environmental issues has generated an increasing demand for skilled arboriculturists.
Recent advances in the understanding of tree physiology have led to fundamental changes to traditional tree work practices. Arboriculture has now moved from the ‘tree surgery’ approach to a ‘tree care’ approach. Kingston Maurward courses reflect such developments by equipping our learners with the necessary skills to succeed in the industry.
STIHL DONATES CHAINSAW BOOTS
Martin Whitlock the Area Sales Manager of Stihl, who gives training sessions at the college, has kindly donated boots to the arboriculture department. Our arboriculture instructor Spencer Gregory says: “It’s essential that all our students have quality personal protective equipment - the boots have gone down really well with the students!”
A spokesperson from Stihl said:
“Encouraging high standards in chainsaw practice, STIHL is pleased to assist Kingston Maurward students with its donation of chainsaw boots. The World’s No. 1 chainsaw brand, STIHL always seeks to promote the safety and comfort of chainsaw operators.”
