Kingston Maurward Makes The Sunday Times 'Best Places to Work'

It's time to celebrate as the college makes 'The Sunday Times the 75 Best Places to Work in the Public Sector 2010'. The prestigious survey measures how workers feel about their job and their role within a company, and also describes the college as ‘one to watch.’ In fact we made the Top 10 in the category 'My Company' which ranks how we feel about the organisation we work for.
This is the first time Kingston Maurward College has been involved in the annual study, with the 48 per cent of staff taking part also praising how well they work together and support each other.
College principal, Clare Davison, said: “I’m delighted with the result of the survey as it confirms that staff here make a valuable contribution to the success of the college and feel that they make a real difference to the lives of students.”
“An engaged workforce is essential as organisations move out of the recession and into a more stable economic situation,” said Best Companies chief executive and founder Jonathan Austin.
“No doubt many companies have tackled redundancies and rapid change this year. But those that have kept on engaging their staff and making sure they are involved in the business will be in a good position for the future.”
A total of 1,086 organisations from the private and public sectors applied for Best Companies recognition this year, with 410 firms being accredited and another 363 organisations achieving ‘One to Watch’ status. The views of 45,000 employees were surveyed, making by far the most detailed survey of its kind.
This is also the first year the Sunday Times has recognised public sector organisations and published a special supplement listing them yesterday (Sunday 14th).
